Giving my first website the glow-up it deserved
I built my original site when I had only been coding for a few months. Here's what changed and why.
My first website did its job: it gave me somewhere to put my work while I was still learning what I wanted my site to feel like. Coming back to it with more experience made every awkward spacing choice, repeated style and unfinished interaction much easier to spot.
The redesign is less about making everything louder and more about giving each part a purpose. Navigation is clearer, projects have room to breathe, and the visual style now feels much closer to the dreamy, slightly strange atmosphere I actually want attached to my work.
Instead of the blend, boring light purple, I wanted there to be texture. I wanted people to look and be interested in reading more! So thats what I did. And I'm so happy with it. There are still things I want to refine, but that is part of the fun. A personal website gets to grow alongside the person making it, so this version is another checkpoint rather than a final destination.
