Kintsugi
Through a thousand thoughts and a thousand feelings,
Not once did your struggles make me falter.
Not once did I see your pain as a burden.
Not once did I believe your worth was any less than another.
Body, mind, and soul may shatter,
Yet every fracture can be gathered, mended with gold.
Blood, bones, and brain may scatter,
Still, I’ll be there, to kiss and hold forever.
Fractures, thoughts and spirits may be tender,
But no crack can dim the light in your laughter.
So please, baby, don’t say you’re broken.
I’ve seen your soul, and I see it shimmer.
I’m here for every part, every fault, every scar;
I’ve kissed your sorrow and found no pity to shelter but poetry to nurture.
Kintsugi may gild your heart with art,
But I loved every piece from the very start.
